The deep gorges of Bhote Koshi and Langtang Khola are thickly forested with rhododendron, oak, maple and alder. The stretch of forest around Ghoda Tabela in the lower Langtang Valley and below Gosainkunda is inhabited by the red panda, a rare and threatened symbol of a healthy Himalayan ecosystem. Other animals, common to these forests are wild boar, Himalayan black bear, ghoral, grey langur monkey and leopardTraveling in the langtang national park is an unusuall experience because of the beautifull landscape for starters. Mountain mornings were absolutely wonderful. Very exciting and well worth waking to see in the morning . In the lower reaches one wanders through various woodlands/ forests. The rhododendrums were out in April/May.

The main highlight of the trek experience is natural hot spring bath at Tatopani, scerene high meadow of Nagthali with great views, high pasture trail after Brindam, jungle walk after Lama Hotel area, wide scenic reiver valley after Ghodatabela and langtang village and the climax of upper Langtang valley around Kyanjin gompa and the glacial valley beyond.
