GOSHAIKUND : - Located about 4000 meters above the sea level, Goshaikund is a famous holly shrine of Hindu and Buddhist. According to the mythology, Lord Shiv had gone into the icy lake to calm down his burning throat from the poison he had swallowed, which had appeared during the time of ‘Samundra Manthan’. Devotees say that there is an image of Lord Shiv underneath of the Kund. Nearby the Gosaikund there are many glassier lakes, which are also, consider as holly Kund. Gosaikund is the nearest trekking destination inside the virgin part of the great Himalayas from Kathmandu.
